Company Profile

Eatec Ltd is an independent UK engineering consultancy which specialises in the provision of analysis, assessment and testing services to clients who are engaged in the development of new products, resolution of engineering problems, or undertaking research.

The company was formed through a management buy-out of the analysis and testing consultancy group of Pafec Ltd, and began trading in 1991. The founding members of Eatec have been active in the engineering consultancy field since the beginning of the 1980's, and have developed extensive experience in finite element analysis (FEA), noise, vibration and shock measurements and the development of bespoke simulation and visualisation software.

Through steady growth, and the recruitment of highly qualified engineers who have detailed knowledge in particular fields, Eatec has widened the range of services and expertise it provides to its clients.

Eatec's clients range from large multi-national organisations to small local companies, operating in industries which include oil & gas, marine, process, defence, transport, power, aerospace and industrial. Due to the high quality of service provided, Eatec has an enviable record of retaining clients.

Eatec undertakes tasks ranging from long-term research through to design assessments. In addition, it is often requested to undertake investigations to establish the cause of failures or unexpected behaviour and identify solutions.

Nigel Wilcox

Nigel Wilcox joined Pafec Ltd in 1983 as a finite element analyst, developing modelling techniques to represent the non-linear dynamic behaviour of submarine weapon stowage systems. After 4 years working on-site at the MoD, he became a senior engineer at Pafec’s Bristol office, overseeing the work of a team of engineers performing FE analyses. In 1991 Nigel joined Eatec as Principal Engineer and undertook generalised mathematical modelling, developing bespoke computer models for individual clients. He has been responsible for the development of a number of industry leading simulation packages In 1994 he was made a director of Eatec Ltd.

Nigel is responsible for the software development group at Eatec.
